Surah Al-Fatiha - الفاتحة (The Opening)
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds,
The Most Gracious, the Most Merciful,
Master of the Day of Judgment.
You alone we worship, and You alone we ask for help.
Guide us on the Straight Path,
The path of those who have received Your grace,
Not the path of those who have gone astray.
Abu Sa'id bin Al-Mu'alla (رضي الله عنه) reported:
The Prophet ﷺ said:
"I will teach you a Surah which is the greatest Surah in the Qur'an before you leave the mosque." Then he took me by the hand and when we were about to leave, I reminded him of his promise. He ﷺ said: "It is Alhamdu Lillahi Rabbil Alamin (i.e., Surah Al-Fatiha).
